Julietta Planchart, PT
julietta@ oceantherapycenter.comJulietta is a 1991 graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has extensive experience in the treatment of neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis, as well chronic pain and fibromyalgia. She uses a combination of manual therapy techniques from myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, lymph drainage and visceral manipulation, in conjunction with sensory stimulation and neurodevelopmental techniques. Julietta is an active member of the APTA and is NDT certified.
Todd James, PT
todd@ oceantherapycenter.comTodd is a 2001 graduate from NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. His primary focus has been in the treatment of the neurologic and orthopedic patient, and has included pediatric, adult and geriatric populations. He uses a variety of manual therapy techniques to improve and restore his patients level of function through one on one personalized treatment plans. Todd is an active member of the APTA and holds certifications through the ACSM and NSCA.
Beth Arias, PT
beth@ oceantherapycenter.comBeth is a 1998 graduate in Physical Therapy from Florida International University. She is also a licensed in massage therapist since1987, and has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from FIU. She specializes in the treatment of orthopedic and chronic pain patients. She uses a combination of massage, shiatsu, Craniosacral therapy, ETPS and exercise to facilitate the restoration of a person’s function and health. Beth is an active member of APTA and ABMP associations.
Staisha Grosch, PTA
staisha@ oceantherapycenter.comStaisha is a 2010 graduate of Keiser University's Physical Therapy Assistant program. She has an extensive movement background which includes ballet, pilates, yoga and gyrotoncis. She was a professional ballet dancer from the age of fifteen and danced with San Francisco Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet and Oregon Ballet Theatre. She is a certified Polestar practitioner of pilates for rehabilitation and a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. Staisha is also a certified instructor of Ashtanga yoga. She is thrilled to be the newest member of the Ocean Therapy Center staff.
Lauren Allen, PT
LaurenAllen@ oceantherapycenter.comLauren Allen is a 1998 graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She has worked primarily with the pediatric special needs population in the south Florida area since graduating. Her extensive experience includes treatment of cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, Down Syndrome, and developmental delays. Lauren is a certified infant massage instructor and a registered yoga teacher. She uses a combination of breathing and yoga exercises, manual techniques, sensory stimulation, and neurodevelopmental treatment to help her clients achieve their maximum potential with respect and love.
Sara Carey O'Malley, Speech Therapist
sara@ oceantherapycenter.comSara received her master of science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2000. The main focus of her work has been in the evaluation and treatment of neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease and Cerebral Palsy. Specific areas of treatment include: voice and speech production, language therapy, swallowing treatment including use of the Vital Stim method, development of communication skills, and development of alternative means of communication. Sara is an active member of ASHA through which she holds her Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC). Additionally she holds her current Florida license and is a certified Vital Stim provider.
Dennys Perez Alejo
dennys@ oceantherapycenter.comDennys is a 2002 graduate from from the Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Cuba with a Bachelor's degree in Human Social Service. He then moved to the United States from Cuba in 2006. Dennys has been working in the physical therapy field since 2008 at the San Joaquin County General Hospital, as well as private clinics in San Francisco area. Dennys has worked with patients from all socio-economic backgrounds and cultures. He has assisted physical therapists in both the acute care and out-patient settings. His tasks included carrying out treatment protocols and programs set out by the physical therapist and individualized for each patient. Dennys brings with him to Ocean Therapy Center a deep caring commitment to our patients' recovery and is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Mary Foy
mary@ oceantherapycenter.comMary is the Office Manager at Ocean Therapy Center. With 20 years of administrative experience, Mary brings compassion and dedication to her service assisting you with any questions or concerns regarding scheduling, billing and information about your treatment needs. Her other vital responsibilities consist of marketing initiatives, quality assurance, insurance verification, coding, contractual reviews, accounts receivable and patient collections. Mary also brings a special healing quality to the clinic as a certified Reiki Practioner.
Ivan Cusin
ivan@ oceantherapycenter.comIvan Cusin spent 6 months assisting the therapists at Ocean Therapy Center. During that time he gained extensive knowledge and hands on experience with the patients treated at OTC. He also became well versed in the treatment techniques OTC specializes in. It is because of his devoted involvement during his stay that Ivan would like to help other Italians benefit from the services offered at OTC. He is available to answer questions in Italian for any person interested in receiving therapy at OTC. Ivan can reached by phone or email.
